      Ideological and political education is an important mission and responsibility entrusted to professional course teachers in the new era. The paper takes the teaching practice of "insurance fundamentals" course as an example to explore the effective paths of achieving ideological and political education. The paths include improving teaching objectives, integrating ideological and political elements, adjusting teaching design, improving teaching methods and improving the evaluation, etc. The purpose is to improve the educational effectiveness of the "insurance fundamentals" course and the quality of higher vocational talents comprehensively.
