Through the investigation of the elderly in rural areas in Xiaogan, Huanggang and Xianning in Hubei Province, this paper analyzes the factors that affect elderly care satisfaction and elderly care mode choice. The results show that self-care and children’ care are still the mainstream elderly care mode; the elderly lack intergenerational care, but mainly self-care; economic creativity and health status are the important internal factors affecting elderly care in rural areas, while community service and oldage insurance are the important external factors. In order to overcome the dilemma of elderly care, it is necessary to actively carry out community service on the basis of home-based elderly care, encourage the development of multiple elderly care mode, attach importance to the scientific classification of old-age
insurance, and advocate the culture of filial piety for the elderly in rural areas. |
